Why?

I'd thrown Sheryl Sandberg's book, Lean In, in my bag on a whim.  On the plane I started to read.  Sheryl asked, "What would you do if you weren't afraid?"  I realised my answer was "exactly this".

I chose law, but art has always been my home.

When I said goodbye to my corporate career and boarded a plane to NYC I had no return date.

My only goal was to try everything I'd ever wanted to create or learn and not make my next career decision until I'd exhausted my passion, or my bank account.

Since that flight I've studied fine art, textiles and design at: Parsons in NYC, the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Central St Martins in London and the Metafora Institute in Barcelona.  I began to understand that my choices had consequences and I had the power to create my alternative to fast fashion.  I completed the Factory45 accelerator program for ethical and sustainable fashion production and presented at the MIT (Boston) Hacking Arts Festival.  I've also returned to the corporate world.

Through all of this I've continued to develop my art and design practice, created my first collection and worked on new designs.

Exactly This is my journey told in light, colour and texture.

Thank you for joining me.
